10 Ways To Be Happy

Hey guys!

Sorry I missed a two posting days (Saturday and Monday).
I was reaaalllyyyy busy!

In the UK it's been cold and dull for a very long time now and when outside is grey and cloudy, it makes it extra hard to smile.
Everyone has those days or periods of time in their lives when they are sad or aren't quite feeling up to scratch. It's natural as humans but there are ways you can cheer yourself up a bit and feel that little bit less miserable.

This is not my photo. Unknown source.

1. Be optimistic

If you are constantly telling yourself that everything is hopeless and life will never get better, then chances are you'll be unhappy for a lot longer than you could be because it means you are unwilling to try and look forward. Being optimistic makes you more grateful for what you have too. Just ask yourself "Am I looking at my glass as half empty or half full". Just be positive and try and find the bright side in every bad situation. After all, every cloud has a silver lining.

2. Smile

For some reason, smiling can actually make you happy so showing a fake smile could quickly be the reason for your real smile. It's hard to be sad when your face is in a smile (can your face be in a smile? No, don't think so). It's almost as if your smile is tricking you into being happy so whenever you can, give the world a massive smile, even if no one is around. I mean, there is always something to be hapy about.

3. Spend time with friends and family

Spending time with the people you love might not be number 1 on your list of things to do when you feel like a mess. I usually just want to crawl up into a ball on my bed in the dark on my own for as long as possible and eat ice cream but that won't help anything. Spending quality time with friends and family can boost your mood, they all laugh, joke around, tell funny stories and discussing your favourite memories from when you were younger.

4. Eat healthily and drink water

Constantly eating junk food can make you feel lazy and sluggish so eat lots of fruit and vegetables to boost your mood and make you feel more energetic. Eating healthily also leads to healthy weight, skin, hair and nails.

5. Exercise

Exercising can actually make you feel more awake rather than tiring you down. It get's you out of bed and can take your mind off whatever is bringing you down. Exercise can give you an "endorphin rush" which is what makes you happy.

6. Don't dwell on things you can't change

A lot of people are prone to spending hours, days or even weeks thinking about something that happened or is going to happen even though they have no control over it. I am one of those people. As our beloved film Frozen very clearly said "Let it go".

7. Don't over-think things

I am the type of person to go way too far into everything, turning meaningless things into big problems when really it's no big deal. Not everything has to have a reason or solution. Most things sort themselves out if you just forget about them.

8. Forgive people

Forgiving people can take a massive weight off your shoulders boosting your mood and everyone loves to be forgiven so it's a win-win situation. Don't hold grudges against other people, it just brings people down and makes things way more complicated than they need to be.

9. Set realistic goals

Setting unrealistic goals makes you feel like a failure because you feel like giving up. Setting no goals can make you feel useless and can leave little point in life for you but setting realistic goals, gives you a purpose to work hard and do what you want to do and when you achieve them, you feel extremely proud and have a great sense of accomplishment.

10. Look after yourself

Give yourself that break, do your nails, buy that bag you want so badly, get a haircut, take a bath. You deserve it. Feed yourself good foods and give your body the exercise it needs. You get one body so look after it. You get one life, make the most of it.

I am always here to talk, feel free to tweet me, comment below or even email me any questions you have or even if you just want someone to talk to. I love you all.

See you soon!

If you do feel extremely down and think you may be experiences symptoms of depression then do seek advice from a professional.

What's In My Makeup Bag?

Hey guys!

I love makeup but don't own a great deal of it.
Basically the only makeup I have is the things in my makeup bag. All my make up products are drugstore brands and suitable for a low-medium budget.
I actually recently bought a new makeup bag and its one of the cutest things.

Maybelline BB Cream
This bb cream is oil-free and has spf 15 which is really good. It also has good coverage but isn't heavy. I have it in the colour medium.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
This concealer doesn't have the best coverage in the world but is great for covering redness and brightening under eyes. I have it in the colour classic beige.

Maybelline FIT ME Face Powder
Even this powder isn't meant to be, it is pretty much translucent which is actually quite good. It is mattifying and helps my makeup last longer.

Benefit Bella Bamba Blusher
This is a really nice colour and lasts really long. It's beauty in a blusher pot.

Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara
This mascara comes out quite natural and is easy to apply. It has a flexor-brush but I don't really understand the point in it.

Black Bean Eye Pencil
This is an eyebrow pencil and is really easy to apply. It's quite waxy and is quite subtle which means you don't end up with scouse brows which I really don't want. I think you could use it as eyeliner but the colour doesn't show up much as eyeliner.

Eye Liner
I hate this eye liner so much and I never wear eye liner anyway but a plain black pencil eye liner is always handy to have with you.

Maybelline Baby Lips - Peach Kiss
I'm not much of a lipstick girl so tinted lip balms are great! This colour can go a bit weird on my lips but it tastes good and it's moisturising.

Maybelline Baby Lips - Cherry Me
This is a really nice red tint and tastes of cherries so thumbs up from me even though I don't like cherries (I know: weirdo alert)

Make up brushes
I have a small set of brushes which are quite cheap and not the best quality but they do the job they are meant to and I will stick with them until I can afford to invest in some Real Techniques brushes.

Hope you enjoyed this make up bag tour thing. Comment below if you would like to see more posts like this and also comment below some blog post ideas.

Have a good day!

Friday Favourite #1

Hey guys!

It's Friday today and you know what that means! (If you understood where this is from then I officially love you).
It's the first ever Friday Favourite.

The product I've been loving this week has to be the Girlfriend perfume by Justin Bieber.
It's such a casual scent but it's so bright (yes, I am describing a perfume scent and bright).
It's one you can where for any occasion and smells like heaven.
The bottle is so cute too!

There is basically a plastic bottle case which protects the actual bottle and it is really bright and cute.
The case is magnetic so the two parts clip together easily around the bottle.
The bottle itself is purple and heart shaped to fit in the case. It has a normal press-down spray pump thing so it has a simple but unique design.

Have a great day! Bye!

Motivational Monday #1

Today's Motivational Monday theme is 'Don't Give up'.

We are a month and a half into 2014 which is usually the point in the year where you have probably given up on your new years resolutions but it hasn't been long enough for you to forget about it. Well, why don't you start them back up again but this time DON'T GIVE UP!
All the work you do will be worth it in the end if you don't give up. Most people should expect set backs in life but it's normal. Don't let them stand in your way because even the greatest achievements had set backs along the way.

When you are thinking about giving up, think about why you started in the first place.
At this very moment, you are probably closer to your goal than ever before.
So many great opportunities are missed by people giving up not realising how close they are to what they want and have worked so hard for.
There is nothing to lose so just keep going.

The moment you're about to quit is usually the moment right before the miracle happens, why risk it?

Take risks, keep working hard for what you want in life. You'll get it if you don't give up.
